About Ridge View BBQ

What has come to be known as Ridgeview BBQ began as a food truck operation named Good Stuff Good Times in 2007. This venture was founded by couples Jim and Wendy Smith and Nick and Nicki Gohlmann.

This first iteration of the business focused on visits to fairs and festivals throughout the state of West Virginia. The Ridgeview team was able to combine their passion for slow-cooked BBQ with their passion for our region, enjoying the natural beauty and great people of our state.

In August 2011, they opened a stationary location in Institute, WV across from West Virginia State University. The restaurant carries the name “Ridgeview BBQ.” Here you will find many of the BBQ items we served on the road, in addition to fresh burger, wings, salads, sandwiches and homemade desserts.

The restaurant is family owned and operated, opened Tuesday through Friday. Weekends are reserved for preparing and executing catered events of all sizes and for every occasion throughout the region.
